Two days: Noah Beach camp + Cape Tribulation
2 days / 1 night (max stay 7 nights) · Best for: Self-reliant tent / small camper visitors who booked QPWS
Guide updated · verify Queensland Parks the morning you go
Official Noah Beach camping only — book Queensland Parks, 3.20 m height limit, no mobile, no fires, wet-season closure pattern. Day two is Kulki and boardwalks, not a Grade 4 unless that was booked as the whole purpose.

Noah Beach is the only official in-park camp. Book and pay in advance. Display the booking number. This site never sells the booking. From 1 July 2026 camping is $7.75 per person / $31 family. Confirm live on the Queensland Parks booking service.
Camping page: closed from the Friday before Christmas Day, reopens Good Friday. Visiting-safely page: first Sunday after New Year’s Day to Good Friday. Official pages disagree — check alerts before you book or drive. Peak demand May–September. Max stay 7 nights.
Height ~3.20 m. No caravans, buses or high vehicles. No showers, no reception, no generators, no pets, no fires. Composting toilets. Bring water, fuel stove, rubbish bags, insect repellent.
The ferry still gates arrival and departure. Limited mobile; official notes say none at the camp. 000 needs a signal. Download Emergency+ and treat a satellite messenger as a planning note.
Track status, shuttle hours, ferry status, camping bookings and weather change — verify on Queensland Parks, mossmangorge.com.au and daintreeferry.com.au before you leave, then use the timeline below as a planning skeleton only. There is no single “Daintree entry fee.”

Timeline
Weeks ahead
Book QPWS only
Use qld.gov.au/camping or the official Queensland Parks booking service. Check vehicle height (~3.20 m), site size, and wet-season closure dates. Do not arrive hoping for a walk-up. Screenshot the booking number.
Night before travel
Ferry + packing
Pre-purchase the ferry. Pack water, fuel stove, rubbish bags, first-aid, insect repellent, offline maps, Emergency+. Tell someone the plan. If alerts or BOM look ugly, delay — the camp is not a shelter in a cyclone.
Day 1 — morning
Ferry → set camp
Cross early. Drive ~28 km north of the ferry / 5.8 km south of Cape Tribulation village. Set camp before you explore. Display the booking. Be Crocwise at the beach and creeks — this is not a swim camp.
Day 1 — afternoon / evening
Short boardwalk, then dark
Optional nearby formed walk only if camp is already live. Evening is insects and rainforest noise, not a campfire. No generators. Pack out what you pack in. There is no reception to “just check the weather later.”
Day 2
Kulki + Madja / Dubuji
Easy walks while you still have a bed 5.8 km from the village. Stay on formed paths. No Mount Sorrow unless that was the whole purpose of day 2 and the group is actually fit.
Day 2 — afternoon
Break camp with ferry buffer
Pack out all rubbish. Leave the site cleaner than you found it. Protect a southbound ferry queue. Do not add Bloomfield on the way “out.”
Do not
Invent another camp
No camping on Mount Sorrow, the beach outside booked sites, or anywhere else in the park. A Grade 4 on day 2 after a poor sleep is how groups miss the ferry.

Parking & access tips
- No caravans, buses or high vehicles (~3.20 m). Read the booking map.
- Ferry hours still gate arrival and departure even when the camp is open 24 hours.
- Park only on your booked site. Do not overflow onto vegetation.
- No reception at camp — screenshot everything south of the river.
- Fill fuel south of the ferry.
Skip if short on time / energy
- Mount Sorrow unless it is the whole of day 2 and you are fit
- Bloomfield Track
- A swim at the beach or creek
- A walk-up if you do not have a booking
- Arriving after a late ferry with no daylight to set camp
Extra tips
Who this plan is for
- Self-reliant tent or small-camper visitors with a QPWS booking
- Groups who accept no showers, no reception, no fires
- Dry-season (May–September) demand — book ahead
- Anyone who thought they could camp on the beach without a booking
Decision gates (say them out loud)
- If the vehicle is over ~3.20 m: this camp is off
- If official pages show wet-season close: do not drive in to look
- If BOM / alerts look like a cyclone: delay
- If day 2 energy is poor: Kulki only, not Mount Sorrow
What success looks like
- Booked site, set before dark, pack out, ferry buffer
- No fire, no swim, no extra camp
- One easy walk day — the Grade 4 is a different itinerary
Next trip upgrade
- A second night if the group is slow to set camp
- Read the Cape Tribulation area page for ferry and Be Crocwise rules
- Mount Sorrow only as its own booked day — never as “we’re already camping”
