Itineraries

These plans are for real Daintree days — drive time, the ferry, weather and energy included — not a “do everything” list. Pick the one that matches your group, then open it for a timeline, packing notes and what to skip. Print from any plan page, or grab the free planner PDF / print-friendly HTML anytime.

Every itinerary defers to Queensland Parks for track status and alerts. Hard walks only appear where the plan names them — and only when official status is open.

Each plan page has a printable timeline plus Print plan, planner PDF and planner HTML. The shared planner is the packing and fee-split sheet; the itinerary page is the day shape.

Which plan fits you?

  • Half-day Mossman Gorge — no ferry; boardwalks and granite river.
  • Full-day Cape Tribulation — early ferry; Madja, Dubuji, Kulki; protect the southbound queue.
  • Two-day Noah Beach — official QPWS camp only; 3.20 m height; no mobile.
  • Mount Sorrow day — Grade 4; 3–4 L; the whole day.
  • Wet-season plan — default to Mossman Gorge; treat Cape Tribulation as conditional.

If two plans both “sound good,” pick the shorter one. You can always upgrade on the ground; you cannot invent daylight on the highway home.

4–5 hours on the ground (+ Cairns / Port Douglas drive)

Best for: First visit without the ferry; families; limited time

One unhurried Mossman Gorge block: Centre, shuttle, boardwalks and river views — without pretending you can add Cape Tribulation and Mount Sorrow after lunch.

Full hard day (allow 6 hours on trail + ferry)

Remote day: Mount Sorrow

Flexible — often Mossman-only

Quieter-season / wet-season plan

Best for: November–April trips, cyclone watch, first-timers who dislike queues

In the wet, default to Mossman Gorge day-use and skip remote Grade 4 walks. Noah Beach is often closed. Ferry and roads can stop. Stingers are more frequent.
