Daintree entry fee? Four systems, not one number
There is no general Daintree National Park entry ticket. Split the Mossman Gorge shuttle, Daintree Ferry, Noah Beach camping and walk permits — and never affiliate official bookings.

Best for: Anyone googling “Daintree National Park entry fee”
Unofficial guide — always verify track conditions, closures, fees and safety with Queensland Parks. Place photos are Wikimedia Commons / CC where credited — not official Queensland Parks imagery and not live conditions.
Some stay, tour and gear links may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Park camping, the Daintree Ferry and the Mossman Gorge shuttle are never affiliated.

Google suggests “daintree national park entry fee” because people want one number. There isn’t one. Mixing the shuttle, the ferry and camping into a single “park ticket” is how visitors overpay in their heads and then argue with the wrong counter.
You can have a complete Mossman Gorge morning and never touch the ferry. You can cross to Cape Tribulation and never pay the Centre shuttle. You can walk Kulki without a permit and still owe a camping fee if you stay at Noah Beach. Those are four different products.
This guide is unofficial. Confirm live dollars and hours on mossmangorge.com.au, daintreeferry.com.au and the Queensland Parks booking service before you travel. Figures below were checked 12 Sept 2026. This site never sells the shuttle, ferry tickets or park camping.
What you are actually paying for
There is no Fraser/Cooloola-style vehicle access permit and no general “Daintree ticket.” You pay the product you use. Mixing A+B+C into one budget line is how people arrive angry at the wrong counter.
A Mossman-only day meets A (shuttle). A Cape Tribulation day meets B (ferry). An overnight at Noah Beach meets B and C. Grade 4 walks do not add a walk permit — they add time, water and judgement.
Print the free planner on this site if you want the four systems on one sheet. Then verify live dollars the morning you travel. Fees roll — shuttle period ends 31 Mar 2027; ferry and camping typically move on 1 July.
A — Mossman Gorge shuttle
The shuttle from Mossman Gorge Centre (Bamanga Muruku) into the day-use area is a Centre product, not a QPWS park ticket. Published 1 April 2026–31 March 2027 (checked 12 Sept 2026): adult $15.50, child (5–15) $7.75, infant free, family (2+2) $38.75, multiple trips the same day.
Every 15 minutes, 8am–5pm; last bus from the gorge 4:30pm; not Christmas Day. The Centre says there is no footpath from the car park and strongly encourages the shuttle. Confirm on mossmangorge.com.au/plan-your-visit/getting-here-and-around.
Cultural walks (for example Ngadiku Dreamtime Walks) are a separate booked Centre product. This site does not resell them. Pay the shuttle here; book culture on the Centre’s official channels.
B — Daintree River ferry

Required for vehicles to the Cape Tribulation section. Not a park permit. From 1 July 2026 (Douglas Shire 2026/27 card): car/ute $35 one-way / $57 return; bicycle and pedestrian $7 / $8; five-return book $143.
Hours 5am–midnight daily, including Christmas Day. Flood and mechanical outages happen — check daintreeferry.com.au/status-updates the morning you leave. Status we last saw stamped 7 Jul 2026 OPEN. That stamp is not live.
Birdon operates for Council from 1 July 2026. Pre-purchase in peak dry season. Mid-morning northbound and mid-afternoon southbound queues are normal. This site never sells the ticket.
C — Noah Beach camping
The only official in-park camp. Book Queensland Parks only. From 1 July 2026: $7.75 per person per night or $31.00 per family per night (under-5s free; educational concession $4.25). Confirm on parks.qld.gov.au/camping/bookings.
Max 7 nights. Peak May–September. Height ~3.20 m — no caravans, buses or high vehicles. No showers, no mobile, no generators, no fires, no pets. Composting toilets. Bring water, stove and rubbish bags.
Wet-season close: camping page says Friday before Christmas → Good Friday; visiting-safely says first Sunday after NYD → Good Friday. Official pages disagree. Check alerts before you book or drive.
D — Walk permits
None required for individual recreational walkers on the standard day walks or Mount Sorrow / Manjal Jimalji. Commercial and organised groups need a QPWS activity permit.
There is no Cooloola-style vehicle access permit for this park. Bloomfield Track north of Cape Tribulation is a different, 4WD problem — not a permit you buy on this site.
If a tour product implies it “includes park entry,” read the fine print. It may mean a shuttle, a ferry, or neither. Ask the operator which of A–C they actually pay.
Failure modes worth saying out loud
“We’ll walk from the Centre car park to save $15.50” → no footpath, a narrow road, and an official preference for the shuttle. Pay the bus.
“The ferry is the park ticket” → you still owe the shuttle if you go to Mossman, and camping if you stay at Noah Beach.
“Christmas Day everything is shut / reduced” → ferry hours include Christmas Day; the shuttle does not run. Check both pages.
Buying any of A–C through an unofficial reseller on this site: we do not sell them. If someone else does, you are not on our booking.
How this fits a real trip
Half-day from Port Douglas: A only. Full Cape Tribulation day: B only (unless you also do Mossman — don’t, on the same clock). Overnight in the park: B + C.
Use the Mossman Gorge and Cape Tribulation itineraries on this site for the day shape. Use this article only to keep the money streams separate.
Re-check 1 April 2027 (next shuttle price period) and 1 July 2027 (typical ferry / camping rollover) if you are planning that far ahead.
FAQ
Tap a question to expand the answer.
Is Daintree National Park free?
There is no general park entry fee. You may still pay a Centre shuttle, a ferry fare, and/or a camping fee depending on the plan. There is no recreational walk permit for standard day walks.
Can I book the ferry or shuttle here?
No. This site never affiliates official camping, ferry tickets or the Mossman Gorge shuttle. Use mossmangorge.com.au, daintreeferry.com.au and qld.gov.au/camping.
Does a park pass cover the ferry?
No. The ferry is Douglas Shire / Birdon. A Centre shuttle ticket is not a ferry ticket. An annual pass from another state is irrelevant here.
Can I walk from the Centre car park instead of paying the shuttle?
The Centre says there is no footpath from the car park and strongly encourages the shuttle. Do not invent a road walk. Use the published bus (last return 4:30pm, not Christmas Day).
Does the ferry run on Christmas Day?
Yes — official ferry-info: 5am–midnight daily including Christmas Day. It can still close for defects or flood. The shuttle does not run Christmas Day.
